SUMMARY:Ron Osgood - Sketchbook Artist who Documented The End of The Vietnam War
DESCRIPTION:Although the U.S. withdrew from Vietnam in 1973\, the war didn’t end until the fall of Saigon on April 30\, 1975 (Fifty years and one day ago). In his 2023 documentary film “Just Like Me: The Vietnam War/The American War\,” Ron Osgood included stories from Vietnamese artists directly involved or impacted on what is called Reunification Day by some or Black Friday by others. This presentation will tell the stories from North Vietnamese Army sketchbook artist Pham Thanh Tam and Vietnamese college student/refugee artist Binh Pho on that significant day.
