DESCRIPTION:Cathy has been involved with in the Monroe County government since January of 2000. She served a four-year term as Monroe County’s chief deputy auditor. In 2009 she started the first of two consecutive terms as county treasurer. After eight years as treasurer\, Smith served as county auditor starting in 2016 before eventually again assuming the role of county treasurer in 2024.  Cathy will share with us her role as the treasurer\, collection of  property taxes and how they are spent. She also will share current tax rates.  I am looking forward to hearing Cathy speak!

SUMMARY:Ron Osgood - Sketchbook Artist who Documented The End of The Vietnam War
DESCRIPTION:Although the U.S. withdrew from Vietnam in 1973\, the war didn’t end until the fall of Saigon on April 30\, 1975 (Fifty years and one day ago). In his 2023 documentary film “Just Like Me: The Vietnam War/The American War\,” Ron Osgood included stories from Vietnamese artists directly involved or impacted on what is called Reunification Day by some or Black Friday by others. This presentation will tell the stories from North Vietnamese Army sketchbook artist Pham Thanh Tam and Vietnamese college student/refugee artist Binh Pho on that significant day.
