SUMMARY:Caty Pilachowski - Solar Eclipses
DESCRIPTION:Caty Pilachowski will speak to us about the two solar eclipses coming soon to Bloomington – the partial eclipse on Saturday\, Oct. 14\, and the total solar eclipse on Monday\, April 8\, 2024.  Caty joined the IU faculty in 2001 as the Daniel Kirkwood Chair in Astronomy.  Her research focuses on the stellar populations and chemical evolution of the Milky Way galaxy.  She is currently a Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Department of Astronomy.
