Josh Brewer – Cicada Cinema

Josh Brewer is co-founder and president of Cicada Cinema, a nonprofit organization in Bloomington focusing on building community through the movie-going experience. Josh manages all aspects of Cicada’s operations from booking films, promotion, community outreach, running tech and volunteer coordination.

Since Cicada’s first screening in 2016, Cicada Cinema worked with 45 community partners and 33 local venues to bring over 300 under-seen and under-screened movies to the Bloomington community via a pop-up cinema model. Now, we’re ready to do something bigger – opening a community movie theater!
